WATER CHARGES UP

Whilst the SNP coalition with the Greens breaks up, I speak about the big rises in water bills whilst sewage is dumped in our rivers.

KING GEORGE V PAVILLION, BEARSDEN

Work to refurbish the Pavilion and the flat above is now expected to be completed in August 2024.

ETIVE PARK, BISHOPBRIGGS

Woodhill and Etive Parks in Bishopbriggs are to benefit from a £950,000 for flood prevention measures, flower meadows and a bike track.

Areas of amenity grass will be reshaped to form a gently sloped detention basin areas to temporarily hold surface water – including from the Bishopbriggs Burn - during extreme storm events. Roadside swales will be created on Menteith Avenue and Etive Crescent to manage surface water run-off from sloped open space areas to significantly minimise the impact of flooding in the vicinity.

There will be additional flower meadows and a dedicated food-growing space incorporating raised beds and decorative pergolas.

Finally, materials from the excavated basins will stay on site and be used to create a bike track.
