Marthos Christoforou announced as by-election candidate

The East Dunbartonshire Liberal Democrats have today announced their candidate for the upcoming by-election for Kirkintilloch East and North and Twechar as Marthos Christoforou. Voters go to the polls on the 13th February after Susan Murray stood down as councillor after being elected as the new MP for Mid Dunbartonshire at the general election, previously serving the ward since being first elected in 2017.

Marthos is an active community campaigner and will be a strong champion for both Kirkintilloch and Twechar. At a time where who SNP and Labour keep voting for cuts to local service, he will stand up to fight to protect key services, for local schools improvements and for better road safety.

The local team already hard at work, getting out and delivering leaflets as soon as the by-election was called. This will be a tight contest and will be fighting for every vote with a strong record of action for the area.
