Susan Murray Newsletter - Assisted Dying Vote and Canniesburn Toll
A local update from your Liberal Democrat MP for Mid Dunbartonshire, Susan Murray. On this week's update, the Scottish Lib Dem Conference, UK Visa Updates and a number of weekly updates.
Assisted Dying Vote
The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill being further scrutinised will promote a rigorous debate on end of life care, which is why I voted for it to proceed to the next stage.
It is also a golden opportunity to begin a more wide-ranging discussion of the need for wider access to palliative care, which many people have told me is key to their thinking on this difficult topic.
Liberal Democrats will push this discussion forward and I will continue to engage with my constituents in Mid Dunbartonshire, whom I encourage to contact me with their views and opinions
Happy St Andrew's Day
This weekend, I wish everyone in Mid Dunbartonshire a Happy St Andrew's Day.
New Canniesburn Toll
Local Lib Dem Councillors and I are calling for the traffic signals activated on 31st October to be monitored following traffic chaos.
My colleagues and I also believe that given the importance of this issue that an interim report should come to the Council followed by a Final Report after the monitoring period is complete.
See Technical Note 184 for more details.
