Thanks for supporting Marthos in the by-election
Thank you for all that voted for Marthos and helped during the campaign, while we did not win this time we managed to achieve being second place after vote transfers and our highest vote share percentage in the ward.
While it was not to be this time, a massive thank you to all the volunteers who throughout this campaign helped to support Marthos. The work will continue as we look towards the next scheduled ward election in 2027.
We will continue to campaign and fight for Kirkintillock and Twechar as we always have done. The East Dunbartonshire Liberal Democrats continue to work all year round and if you wish to join our volunteer team you can sign up here.

- Labour: 958 (30.2%, +1.0)
- SNP: 726 (22.9%, -16.0)
- Marthos Christoforou (Lib Dem): 677 (21.3%, +2.6)
- Reform UK: 476 (15%, new)
- Conservative: 131 (4.1%, -7.8)
- Green: 128 (4%, new)
- Alba: 63 (2%, new)
- Sovereignty: 18 (0.6%, new)
Votes at final head-to-head stage:
- Labour: 1255 (39.5%)
- Marthos Christoforou (Lib Dem): 1029 (32.4%)
- Didn't Transfer: 893 (28.1%)
