Marthos is the Lib Dem ward champion for Kirkintilloch East and North and Twechar. He was our candidate for the by-election on 13th February 2025. A community champion who will be a stand up for local schools, road safety, and oppose the SNP and Labour cuts to local services.
He continues to champion the hard work that Susan Murray did during her time as councillor as we work towards returning a Lib Dem councillor once again in the 2027 local elections.
The SNP and Labour tax hike of 9.5% on top of 13.2% last year is an unacceptable 23% in two years. The Lib Dems proposed an alternative budget with an increase of only 6.5% instead.
