A local update from your Liberal Democrat MP for Mid Dunbartonshire, Susan Murray. On this week's update, Susan has been visiting local businesses as part of Scotland Loves Local week, will be starting a new column in local papers and backed a motion in Parliament to protect pensioners in Mid Dunbartonshire and across the UK from losing their Winter Fuel Payments.

Scotland Loves Local - Business Tour

Mid Dunbartonshire has lots of amazing small businesses, who work hard to make sure our high streets are nice places to shop, eat, and socialise on.

As part of Scotland's Towns Partnership's Scotland Loves Local week, I visted businesses across the constituency, to hear first-hand from them about their successes, the challenges they face, and how I can help them

NEW COLUMN

I'm thrilled to say that, starting soon, I will be publishing a new monthly column in the Kirkintilloch Herald and the Milngavie and Bearsden Herald.

This will be a great opporuntity for me to let you know what I'm doing at Westminster, to comment on the latest developments, and to hold both of Scotland's governments to account while championing local issues.

Please do keep and eye out and get in touch if there's something you think I should include.

PROTECT THE WINTER FUEL PAYMENT

I backed a motion in Parliament to protect pensioners in Mid Dunbartonshire and across the UK from losing their Winter Fuel Payments.

It's an incredibly important issue to many people living locally and it has been handled poorly at a government level, with people feeling like they don't have enough time to prepare.

Liberal Democrats are committed to working with others to find a fair and sensible solution.
