A local update from your Liberal Democrat MP for Mid Dunbartonshire, Susan Murray. On this week's update, Susan has voted against the winter fuel cut, met with WASPI campaigners and visited GRACE's Help Yourself Café in Hillhead Community Centre.

VIDEO UPDATE

The Tories and the SNP have made a mess of the public purse, in Scotland and across the UK. Now, the Labour UK Government has started by undermining the most vulnerable in our society. I voted against them and will continue to speak up for those in need in Mid Dunbartonshire.

WINTER FUEL CUT VOTE

I voted against the UK Government's planned cut to the Winter Fuel Payment in Parliament.

Thousands of pensioners across Mid Dunbartonshire are concerned about this cut and will face difficult choices this winter.

The cut is also coming into effect too quickly and does not give our elderly people enough time to plan and make the best decision for them.

WASPI WOMEN

It was great to meet with the dedicated WASPI campaigners today and give my support.

I'm a firm believer in pension equality and will continue to back the WASPI women in their campaign for fairness.

GRACE VISIT

I visited GRACE's Help Yourself Café in Hillhead Community Centre and heard about people across East Dunbartonshire who are struggling with the cost of food and bills, even when they are working.

GRACE works in Hillhead CC and Auchinairn CC, Bishopbriggs, and online to provide aftercare for people who have experienced life traumas like bereavement, ill health, loneliness, or mental health issues. They do amazing work and play a key role in our communities

Mid Dunbartonshire needs investment to help local people live healthy lives and deal with the cost of living.

That’s why I’m calling for capital funding to secure a health and care centre for Milngavie and Bearsden.
