A local update from your Liberal Democrat MP for Mid Dunbartonshire, Susan Murray. On this week's update, Susan has been setting up her office, participating in a community tidy up and expressing concern about the increase in the domestic fuel price cap.

SETTING UP MY WESTMINSTER OFFICE

I've been back in Westminster getting my office set up. The Parliament staff have been brilliant and have given me so much help.

I'm also getting my great team together to help us tackle my casework and serve all the people of Mid Dunbartonshire, whether you voted for me or not.

DOMESTIC FUEL PRICE CAP

The price cap for domestic fuel is set to rise by 10% from October this year. I'm joining with Liberal Democrat colleagues in expressing concern about this, particularly in terms of people having enough time to adjust.

For an average household paying by direct debit for dual fuel this equates to £1,717 per year, adding around £12 a month to an average bill.

This comes as the winter fuel payment has been scrapped by the Government for those who do not receive pension credit. Many people who are eligible for pension credit do not claim it.

You can find out if you are eligible here. I’m very concerned about the impact of axing the winter fuel payment and will be raising this with the Government when Parliament returns

COMMUNITY TIDY UP

I was happy to take part in a community tidy up, pitching in to help keep Mid Dunbartonshire tidy.

We are lucky to live in such a lovely party of the world, and I'd encourage everyone to consider doing their bit to ensure it's neat and tidy for everyone who lives here and those who visit.
